Syracuse coach Scott Shafer announced Tuesday that Broyld is no longer with the team because of an unspecified violation of team rules, Syracuse.com reported.

The rising senior led the team in receptions (52) and receiving yards (432) as a sophomore in 2013 before missing eight games because of a lower-body injury last season.

The Rochester, N.Y., native played running back and receiver during his time with the Orange and was expected to join Ervin Philips and Ben Lewis as the team’s primary hybrids in 2015.
