Though not a full-sized Nintendo Direct, another Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase aired earlier today, with 10 minutes of teased gameplay and titles coming throughout 2020. One of the few rhythm games announced during the livestream event was a popular drumming game originally released for the arcade known as Taiko no Tatsujin. The goal is to hit a traditional Taiko drum to the beat of chosen music, and in the arcade, players can hold the drumsticks known as Bachi.

As one of Japan’s most popular arcade games of all time, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack is coming to the Switch, set to release in America in winter 2020. Better yet, the game includes both Rhythmic Adventure 1 and 2, offering a unique storyline and RPG setting to fight over 250 monsters, bosses, and enemy drums throughout different historical periods.
Throughout the campaign, players will need to employ their drumming skills to best enemies, which can become future allies as players are able to invite them to join their party. The game will also feature a classic rhythm game mode, which will include over 100 songs and 6 new tracks.
Rhythm gaming was a bit of a theme during this Direct Mini, with a new Just Dance 2021 and a Switch announcement of Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory confirming a release later this year as well, featuring an exclusive mode for the Nintendo console.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack will release in winter 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.
