The Berserker, therefore, is a bit of an odd man out in Tainted Grail: Conquest. Since the character receives a benefit from being low on health, it might seem like the game encourages players to lose health. In actuality, the Berserker’s greatest strength is not in losing health, but gaining it back.

Foregoing Barriers And Blocks (Not Armor)

Getting hit charges up the ultimate which, in turn, heals the Berserker. Even at minimal levels of healing when used early, this is more than enough to heal the Berserker to full health. Taking hits is encouraged, so let barriers and block categories go.

However, this can easily make the Berserker on the verge of death with easy opponents having no issue pushing the Berserker over the edge. With lots of armor, the Berserker can change from one of the worst to one of the best on the character ranking charts.

Don’t Aim To Trigger The Passive Ability

The Berserker’s passive ability gives it extra energy when below 25% health. Never intentionally try to get this low on health. That is a situation for emergencies only and should be treated that way. It’s there for when players can’t avoid taking a brutal hit.

Trying to stay below 25% health is a great way to die when simply farming up the game’s various currencies. The extra energy is not worth it, let it go. Stay topped off on health, that way when an unexpected big hit comes up, it can be taken in stride.

Mix In Some Heavy-Hitters

Most classes benefit from having a lot of little cards. Little cards certainly aren’t a penalty to the Berserker since the lifesteal from the ultimate lasts for the entire turn. But this Berserker build also has the unique opportunity to wipe a tanky opponent off the map after only a single round.

To do so, get some damage benefits up (passives and masteries will help) and take at least one three-energy damage card. Crank the ultimate and then just choose which enemy dies in a single blow. Using the Master-At-Arms assures that this card can always be in the player’s hand.

Level 10 - Blood-Oath

Increase damage by 200% for one turn when using the ultimate ability with eight or more charges

There are no wrong answers for the level ten mastery. One of them increase armor based on ultimate charges, which is great most of the time until players have to use their ultimate ability. The other choice here gives double charges for each hit taken, which amounts to quicker recoveries.

But the best ability for this build is the Blood-Oath. Increasing damage by 200% after using a charged-up ultimate can both heal the Berserker to full and decimate bosses and high-health enemies. This versatility gives players the option to heal, delete an enemy, or both.

Level 20 - Trembling Clash

All hits done with the ultimate ability active reduce enemy’s armor by 20

Of the masteries available at twenty, one of them is a straight-up liability. Some bosses, including the final boss, penalize the player for stunning them, so pass on Remorseless Assault. Blood-Drinker sounds like a great way to permanently get 200% damage, except that it requires killing an enemy every turn, which is not feasible.

Instead, snag Trembling Clash and reduce enemy armor by twenty per hit for the rest of combat. The Berserker doesn’t have a lot of moves that reduce armor and that’s a big part of dealing extra damage against the final enemies, so this covers for that weakness and then some.
