On top of this, their ultimate ability makes them far easier to kill. Is this a bad class? No way. It just requires some careful planning and a cool head. With some basic strategies, this can easily become a favorite class to play in Tainted Grail: Conquest.
All Golems All The Time
Damage is done primarily through the Lich ultimate ability, so minions won’t be necessary for the build. In fact, non-Golem minions can be a detriment to the situation. The Lich form is extremely frail and easy to kill, so having Golems to tank the damage is critical.
The easiest way to get a Golem is to select one to start with. After that, using the Master-At-Arms can guarantee another Golem card starts in the hand. Other minions only pose as liabilities, if they must be summoned, sacrifice them immediately.
Don’t Promote Anything
Living minions deal damage to the Necromancer based on their level. While ethereal minions do no such damage, Golems won’t take if they are ethereal. So that means some damage is, sadly unavoidable. The first rule is to always have a barrier of some kind up to absorb these hits.

Next, keep these Golems at the lowest possible level. This assures that they will do the least amount of damage, which is good, and that enemies will easily kill them, which charges the ultimate meter. Nobody needs to take damage when farming up the game’s currencies, so let promotion cards go by unused. Removal is a smart option when it comes up.
Make The Lich Moment Count
Don’t feel too eager to use the Lich right away. Without Golems up, the Lich form is weaker than the Necromancer form and subject to easy kills by hard-hitting enemies. Get the big tanks out front and make sure they can survive the oncoming hits before popping the ultimate.
Next, don’t go into Lich form unless the energy is at full (or higher with the contributions of runestones and cards). This gives the Lich form maximum damage capabilities and, for this build, this is the primary method of dealing damage. A well-used Lich makes the Necromancer rise up the ranks of the game’s character classes.
Level 10 - Left Hand Path
There isn’t really much to argue about with this particular build. For Necromancers that’d decide to invest in their minions and tank the damage that the minions do to the character, Leech Form is fine. Path of Death is good for keeping the Necromancer topped off, but that’s not going to be a problem with this build as the Necromancer isn’t taking big hits.

The Left Hand Path boosts the damage of the Lich form, adds cards, and provides additional benefits to being a Lich. To keep up with other damage-dealing classes, this is the only choice to make. Otherwise, big bosses have their damage scale up too quickly.
Level 20 - Eternal Form
One of these masteries gives minions promotions which is a really terrible idea for this build since they’ll all hit the Necromancer harder. The Right Hand Path is more defensive than offensive, but the Golems are doing the work on that front.
The Eternal Form makes a compelling case by increasing damage in the Lich form every time it is used and allowing the Necromancer to enter Lich form with four charges instead of six. This is a mandatory mastery for defeating bosses in a timely manner before they scale up.
