FC Brunton 1 – 6 Supernova FC
The game between FC Brunton and Supernova FC kicked off the action in the penultimate Gameweek of Division 2. Supernova needed only a draw to ensure that they take home the title, but they did much more than that as they swept aside an in-form Brunton side.
Despite being only a goal down for most of the match, FC Brunton capitulated dramatically in the last 15 minutes of the game, conceding 5 goals. FC Brunton, however, did manage to pull a goal back in the dying seconds, but it was no more than a mere consolation. This result also sees them drop to 7th place with no chance of a top half finish.

Diablos FC 5 – 2 Athlos United FC
The most awaited game of the day was in line next as two heavyweights Athlos United FC and Diablos FC battled it out. For Diablos, this was a very crucial game and they were at it from kick-off, racing to a 3-0 lead within 26 minutes; but were pegged back by a late first half goal to make it 3-1 at halftime.
Tariq, however, settled the tie in the 50th minute with yet another goal to take his tally to 14 for the season. Sunny Subba did add another for Athlos to reduce the margin momentarily, but Siddharth TC restored the 3 goals margin with a goal a minute later. This loss meant Athlos could end the season in 5th if results go against them whereas Diablos will need to brace up for their final challenge against champions Supernova next week.

Warriors FC 1 – 3 Parikrma
The third game of the day saw Warriors FC taking on Parikrma in a game that was a must-win for both sides, albeit for different reasons. With the title now out of Parikrma’s reach, they were looking to keep the pressure up on the Diablos FC in a bid to secure second position. Warriors, meanwhile, were trying to get some points on the board to finish the season on a high.
Parikrma though, as expected, romped to victory after they put themselves three goals ahead within the first 20 minutes but Saheed pulled one back for the Warriors to keep the game interesting. The second half was goalless for both teams but Parikrma had done enough to secure victory and stay in the race for second place.
Scorers: Warriors FC: Saheed Adoye 26’ Parikrma: Saravana S 8’; Appu J 15’; Shiva Kumar 19’
Netbusters 3 – 0 Phoenix FC
Netbusters continued their impressive form in the second half of the season and made it three wins in a row when they beat Phoenix FC. Netbusters have resurrected their season and are now in contention to finish as high as 4th despite being deprived of the services of some of their most influential players through injury and suspension.
Suresh BK picked up a brace as he scored either in both halves and Etiboy later confirmed the inevitable with a goal two minutes from the final whistle. Phoenix FC continue to find themselves in 9th and look set to finish the season in the bottom rungs of the table. Netbusters, however, can end the season in 4th, a commendable position given their flat start to the campaign.
Scorers: Netbusters: Suresh BK 24’,38’; Abraham Etiboy Demas 58’
FK FC 0 – 1 Diego FC
The final game of the day pitted FK FC against Diego FC in what turned out to be a tighter affair than was expected. FK FC, having ended up on the losing side have only themselves to blame as they threw away a host of chances that came their way.
Diego had a below-par game by their standards and were only saved by a superb long-range effort by winger Danush in the 28th minute. FK FC remain winless, which means they will finish the season rock bottom in the table, but will still be looking for that elusive win going into the final game. Diego meanwhile, climb above FC Brunton to 6th place, but with their last game a tough one against Parikrma might drop down.
Scorers: Danush D 28’ (Diego FC)
