Developed by Namco Tales Studio, Tales of Vesperia initially released on the Xbox 360 in the summer of 2008 as part of Microsoft’s push for Japanese developed games being a feature of the console. Just over a year later, Namco Tales Studio ported a PlayStation 3 version launching in Japan only. Tales of Vesperia is considered on of the best entries in the Tales series with a Metacritic score of over 80% on all versions of the game.
Xbox Game Pass has received a lot of attention recently with the recent acquisition of ZeniMax Media as Microsoft has promised games from the publisher being brought over to the platform starting with Doom Eternal heading to Game Pass. While no other announcements have been made, it’s expected that many of Bethesda’s current gen games will follow.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is hard at work on a version of Xbox Game Pass for IOS that the company is planning on launching in 2021. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, states that Microsoft is currently looking for a workaround to get the service on the Apple platform which currently has denied other game streaming services entry. Apple has stated the company is concerned that it could not assess the content of the games being streamed.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
