Now the track is promoting that distinction and taking it to a new level with its “Big One on the Blvd.,” a Friday night parade celebrating the infield rowdiness.

The Talladega scene, which typically features scantily clad women and all sorts of crazy fan attire and antics, will now include a Moonpie eating contest and BBQ sauce wrestling. Sprint Cup drivers Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (and possibly Danica) and Austin Dillon will be on hand for the May 2 party to witness the festivities and interact with fans.
The drivers will start the Mardi Gras-style parade at 7:45 ET by tossing out swag to fans. The parade will proceed to the south end of the boulevard, where participants will see how many Moonpies they can consume, and then grapple in a pit of BBQ sauce.
Danica Patrick will be in the Talladega infield on Saturday night to help crown a “tailgate champion” for Coke Zero.
Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch said the track party “brings attention to one of the most extraordinary camping areas in the whole sport.”
“For years, drivers have loved coming out to Talladega Blvd.,” Lynch said in a track news release. “What better way to start off an event weekend … than to hold the craziest parade the sport has ever seen.”
The Sprint Cup Aaron’s 499 is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
