Tancredi Palmeri revealed that a meeting took place on January 28th between Arsene Wenger and Robin Van Persie’s agent Kees Vos, on a possible return to the Emirates. The Dutch striker is thought to be a frustrated figure at Old Trafford since the retirement of Sir Alex Fergusson and has been annoyed with the new Manchester United boss David Moyes’ training methods. Van Persie hence no longer intends to stay at the club and wants to return to the club that made him what he is today, Arsenal.

The striker and his agent have already asked the club on a possible departure and one would believe that, David Moyes who is on the mission of building a squad to fight for silverware wouldn’t be for such a move from his best striker in form, however to everyone’s surprise David Moyes has informed the striker’s agent that, Manchester United nor him would become an obstacle if the striker intends to make such a move, of course only if the price is right. According to Tancredi such a move is very likely to go through in the summer transfer window, with a fee around £29milion seeming to be enough to convince the Old Trafford club on selling their 29 year old prized possession.

The Dutch star helped Manchester United win their 20th Premiere League title from Manchester City and also winning the Golden Boot award with 30 goals, felt cheated as Sir Alex retired after just one season from his signing. Arsene Wenger is obviously keen to bring his former star back to the Emirates, who are experiencing an amazing form this season with a possibility of winning the league. Wenger is believed to be in the market for a world class striker as the club’s lacks experience upfront and the arrival of Van Persie could just do the trick for the Londoners in their quest to become a strong top side once again, to challenge for silverware more consistently than their recent past.
