Ninje’s Kilimanjaro Stars crashed out of the regional tournament after losing three matches against Kenya, Libya and Zanzibar.
But despite the poor show at the regional stage, the former Hull City Academy coach, who was appointed to handle the team last November, says that he’s going nowhere but added that he’s not afraid of a sack.
“I am a sportsman. I left everything to take up coaching. Am not going anywhere, this is what I ever wanted to do,” Ninje said in a post-match interview, after losing his last Group ‘A’ match by a solitary goal to host Kenya on Monday.
“I am going nowhere. But if I’ll not get a chance to continue this job, I believe I’ve got enough qualification to join another team."
Ninje however, asked for forgiveness from Tanzanian fans back at home for the bad performance even as he looks forward to revamping Kilimanjaro Stars.
“I am proud of my players. They gave their all in the whole tournament, however, I believe its time to bring in new blood in the team."
Tanzania finished second last in the five-man group that also had leaders Zanzibar, Kenya, Libya and Rwanda.
Zanzibar and Kenya progressed to the semi-final where they will meet Uganda and Burundi respectively.
